Tether is an experimental hybrid film combining traditional cinematography and generative artificial intelligence. Created using RED camera footage and multiple AI models orchestrated through Synthetic Frame's proprietary HeyFlo operating system, the project explores a new approach to filmmaking where human creativity and AI collaborate within the same production pipeline.
The film blends horror storytelling with emerging AI-driven visual techniques, representing a new production model for hybrid cinema.

TETHER is a short thriller–horror film produced by The Horror Factory and created using the proprietary HeyFloalgorithm developed by Synthetic Frame, a technology that blends real footage with generative AI models to expand and augment the director’s vision.
After a night of terrifying dreams, a man named Steve wakes up in shock. In his nightmares he repeatedly witnesses a woman in mortal danger. But what he experiences are not dreams—they are symptoms.
Steve is being pulled toward someone he has never met, yet to whom he is now bound by an inexplicable and unbreakable connection. The visions grow stronger and more violent, forcing him to search for the woman before it is too late.
As the threat to the woman intensifies, the same signs of violence begin to appear on Steve’s own body, as if the suffering inflicted on her is echoing within him.
TETHER is the story of a mysterious bond that cannot be ignored. A connection so powerful that, if Steve hopes to survive, he must uncover its origin—and break it—before time runs out.
Tether is a hybrid horror film directed by Giovanni Pedde and produced by Synthetic Frame in collaboration with The Horror Factory.
Executive producers are Valentina Martelli, Steve Bell, and James Owen.
The film combines live-action cinematography with generative AI, integrating real footage shot on RED cameras with AI-generated imagery to create a new form of hybrid filmmaking.
The production utilized seven generative AI models, including Kling, Seedance, and ElevenLabs, coordinated through HeyFlo, Synthetic Frame’s proprietary orchestration operating system.

HeyFlo (short for Heywood Floyd) functions as a multi-model AI orchestrator, designed to streamline creative workflows and integrate multiple generative systems within a single production pipeline. While Tether used seven models, the platform itself has no limit to the number of AI systems it can coordinate.
The philosophy behind HeyFlo is simple: AI as augmentation, not replacement. The system is designed to support human creativity while preserving the artistic vision of filmmakers.
Tether will be released in three versions:
• Director’s Cut
• Commercial Version
• Ultra-Short Version

The film is distributed through The Horror Factory, the UK-based horror studio led by producer and director James Owen, known for the cult horror film Bite.
Tether explores the emerging frontier where cinema, human creativity, and generative AI converge.
